The Spine is half detached (shown) there is loss to the base of the first three or four pages of the book removing the printing date (although the preface is dated 1859 and this looks to be an early copy if not of that date). The front and back end papers are missing and it appears that part of the book has been bound in the wrong order the Calendar of Garden Operations which according to the list of contents should be at the front of the book appears bound at the end where the final (damaged)(shown) page is p.52 suggesting that a couple of pages may be missing there. The first plate (plate VII) (against the title page has a tear (shown) and Plate I has some loss (also shown) plate 4 is missing the rest are present and in reasonable condition with some spotting. There is some scrunching to the pages around pages 60-66 or so (shown) otherwise the book appears complete and in reasonable condition - there is some spotting and browning. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS”
