I do rather like these earrings, they looked pretty dirty in the pictures so I wasn't surprised to have to give them a very thorough clean. However they arrived with one lever hook unattached and the other about to become so. In effect I had to mend both earrings before I could safely wear them. They were well packaged so I would have expected them to arrive in good order. Luckily all is well now.

I am very sorry for any issues "dirt" on silver is age patination, this is an indicator of age and is often "faked" by modern makers to attempt to reproduce what only age and time can create - silver patinates, where items have designs this enlivens the 3D look of the piece, and is considered highly desirable by collectors, once polished or cleaned off it cannot be replicated unless you allow the years to pass - for this reason I do not over polish silver pieces as they lose character/value.
