About this product

Product Information

When it was first released in the arcades in 1993, "NBA Jam" was a huge success. It helped to create a new genre of sports video games. The game also spawned a few sequels and home console ports. In 2010, developer and publisher Electronic Arts brought "NBA Jam" to a new generation on the Xbox 360. This game retains everything that made the original version great while adding bonus features. The original creator of "NBA Jam," Mark Turmell, was brought on to supervise the development. This new version even has voice actor Tim Kitzrow reprising his role as the announcer.Gameplay in "NBA Jam" on the Xbox 360 is a simplified version of an NBA game. Players will choose any one of the 30 included NBA teams. All of the rosters are accurate to the 2010 lineups. Also, each roster includes a former NBA legend that played on that team. For example, Portland Trail Blazers fans can select Clyde Drexler as a player. Each player has their own sets of strengths and weaknesses. These statistics influence how they play on the court. You can also unlock additional teams with characters such as mascots or past presidents. After picking your team and an opposing team, the game begins. In "NBA Jam," there are no rules outside of goaltending. You can shove the other players to steal the ball without any consequences. You can activate a turbo ability to run faster. When it comes to dunking, your character can jump 15 feet in the air. Nail three buckets in a row to make that athlete go on fire. When on fire, the ball burns and your athlete can hit nearly any shot they take. However, as soon as your opponent scores a point, you'll lose this ability. Another exciting feature of the Xbox version of "NBA Jam" is the alley-oop move. This move lets you set up your opponent for a wicked dunk. This Xbox 360 video game features 3D graphics with digitized likenesses for the face, just like the classic game. Tim Kitzrow frequently spouts off dialogue that you would never hear in a real basketball match. Unlike realistic basketball games, this Xbox 360 title never takes itself too seriously. Also, unlike the past games, this new version has a robust single-player campaign. This campaign, called the Remix Tour, lets you defeat teams from all over the country. At the end, you must face off against a team comprised solely of legends like Magic Johnson. You'll also get to participate in match types such as 21 and Domination. When you get tired of winning games against the CPU, you can play multiplayer. You can play multiplayer locally against friends or online against gamers from around the world. There is also a cooperative mode where two gamers can be on the same side. The Xbox 360 edition of this title has a rating of E for everyone. This rating ensures that this title is suitable for gamers of all ages. This basketball title is one you'll keep coming back to time and time again. Even basketball novices will find it easy to master the controls. Whether alone or with a friend, this EA Sports title is one excellent gaming experience.
