It's obvious that it is plastic when you tap on it. For what it is and the design it seems to be well built. I just do not like the deceptive title that says steel frame. I would have bought one of these had they said durable injection molded plastic. I think this will actually do what I want it to do, but I would not recommend it for high-powered rifles.
