Thought the item was as described, overall, there is a dull 'thunk' sound when one taps the side of the mug...this indicates that there is a slight defect somewhere in the mug. I have used the mug, however, and it functions fine, but I am careful when using and washing due to the fact that I believe there is some slight defect. The detailing of the mug is quite fun (Crazy Cat Lady Ceramics are collectible & expensive). I love this mug which was affordable and adorable.
