I do not believe this is an actual Parker pen. I have another of the same model purchased in the UK a few years ago, hence this purchase as they are becoming quite rare. Sadly, none of the parts are interchangeable between the two, it is a different length and slightly different shape too. It did not accept actual Parker ink cartridges either.
It will work as a fountain pen if you buy ink pots and use the refillable cartridge it came with.
