Nice artifact! Sharpened and dressed the cutting edge. Definitely blacksmith made, hand forged. Must have been rusting for some time; perhaps buried. Difficult to date The metal is a forged iron with a carbon content, so it is likely a “mild steel.” Will fit a hickory hand to the head tomorrow. Good purchase. How did it find its way to India? Thanks
