The Sony Handycam CCD-TR51 is one of the many popular models in the Sony video camera product line. This Hi8 camcorder is easy to use, although it has a number of advanced features that any user will enjoy. One feature is the full color eyepiece on this Sony video camera that moves through a 60 degree arc so as to reduce arm and eye strain during use. With the threaded attachment point on the bottom of the Sony Handycam CCD-TR51, it can be attached to a bipod/tripod or other type of support for long video shoots. The battery in this Sony video camera will deliver an average of 60 to 90 minutes camera usage. This black Hi8 camcorder utilizes the Hi8 digital video format, the media for which resembles an audio cassette. Once shooting of the video is done, users can play back the recording on a TV or other type of compatible video monitor using the included audio-video cables. Although most video cameras have built-in microphones, the Sony Handycam CCD-TR51 is one of the few Hi8 camcorders with a built-in stereo microphone. Sony's CCD-TR5 is a great backup video camera for anyone or first camera for a budding teen or pre-teen videographer.
