BY 1778 THE MITRE WAS REPLACED BY A COCKED HAT WITH YELLOW TRIM. THE MITRE CAUSED SEVERAL INSTANCES OF FATAL FRIENDY FIRE, BEING MISTAKEN FOR GERMANS IN THE DARK SO IT WAS EVENTUALLY ABANDONED. THE PAINT JOB IS SUPERB. THANK YOU.
