Sony revolutionized the gaming experience when they released the original PlayStation gaming console that was revered in the video game community. Powered by a 34MH RISC processor and 8 MB of graphics memory, this model made gameplay faster, smoother, and better than ever before. This gray gaming machine is the classic look of the original PlayStation: sleek, efficient, easy to use, and ready to play. This Sony console measures about 10.75 inches wide, 7.5 inches deep, and 2.38 inches high. It only weighs about 3 pounds, making it easily transportable. In addition to the disc tray at the top of the device, two ports for wired controllers can be found on the front of the device. Above each controller port is a slot for memory cards that can hold multiple files from saved games. The portable cards let you ontinue your video game on multiple consoles. Buttons to power on the device and to open the disc tray can also be found on the top. On the back of the Sony PS1 you will find the location of the input for the power supply in addition to the television hookup inputs. This PlayStation gaming device was one of the first systems to have each video game available on a disc rather than a cartridge, meaning they could be more immersive and more colorful in regard to graphics. Although the PS1 device is primarily a gaming system, it can also play sounds and music from audio CDs. Listen to your music in the programmed order or repeat a song, repeat the disk, or shuffle between tracks. It comes with a wired controller and the cords you need to plug it into your entertainment system. Boasting a library full of impressive titles, getting your hands on a Sony PlayStation gives you the chance to jump back into the worlds of "Gran Turismo," "Resident Evil," or one of the popular "Final Fantasy" games without a problem.
