This was a gift to my father who is among the last to have been in combat in WWll. This sub-branch of the Navy only existed from 1942 to 1945 and was assigned as gunners on Merchant Marine vessels transporting fuel and good to supply troops. My dad trained to take over the gun if the Seaman couldn't continue. They held the highest percentage of casualties of all branches. My dad was very pleased with the pin as an early birthday present when he turns 97. Thank you, Seller. Highly Recommended.
