You still need an awl to fully pinch through. Mine pinches the leather and doesn't make cleanly aligned holes. I am still undecided if this should go to my " rework to make it work the way I like it" or to the "waste of money" tools. It is quite solidly built, so for someone just looking to do some hobby crafting it is passable. It was packed quite well, so I have to assume that nothing got damaged during shipping and that the article isn't quite what I was hoping for.
