It has been battered by freak storms and a cholera outbreak but has continued, unbroken, contributing in no small part to the colonisation of the world by Cornish men and women. This potted history gives an insight into the history of the village and takes a humorous look behind the scenes into what it is like to actually live and work in Cornwall's second largest fishing port. It debunks a few myths and introduces some lively, tall tales, as told through local voices. A History of Mevagissey is well written and well researched and provides an entertaining and fascinating look into the history of this famous village.
