About this product
Produktinformation
John Barton is Advisory Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company and has directed some of the greatest Shakespeare productions of our time. His book, "Playing Shakespeare," is a transcript of his televised workshops with some of our finest Shakespearean actors: Peggy Ashcroft, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Ben Kingsley, Patrick Stewart and David Suchet. This new edition contains a DVDwith 80 minutes of video featuring John Barton in conversation with Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Jane Lapotaire discussing changes in approaches to Shakespeare's text since the book first published. This edition also features a foreword by Michael Boyd. This is a highly readable approach to understanding Shakespeare's text and unlocking the hidden stage directions and actors clues that reside in his verse. As Barton explains, "when an actor becomes aware of them they will find Shakespeare himself starts to direct them."

- 2***n- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchasePerfect quality, gorgeous book! It’s brand new as described & came securely packaged meaning it’s in immaculate condition and a bargain when compared to retail! The seller was very quick to respond when I had questions about delivery times. Highly recommend this seller for quality products & a lower price point. Well worth the wait in my opinion! Thanks again
- a***p (3106)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseItem as listed, new and sealed in cardboard cd envelope, great price , only let down by dispatch time. on listing said 30 days but in the post details it also stated 3 day courier, when I contacted seller to clarify they said it would be 20 sept and they would dispatch it,2 weeks after ordering and changed the 3 day courier in the listing. It only had to travel 60 mile!. It finally arrived this morning with a Royal Mail 48 hour post label, so took a month to finally dispatchBREATHE IN THE AIR (#376410529401)
- _***n (572)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseI ordered 3 books from this seller, of which this was by far the most expensive. It was exactly as described, and arrived in pristine condition and on the delivery schedule they notified me of. The other two books were unfortunately lost in the mail, and when I contacted the seller about this, they refunded me without any problems. So when things go to plan, they are great, and when things don't go to plan they are great as well. I absolutely love the book I did get, so Thank You for that!
