Arrived quickly but was impossible to insert the tube to blow it up, so was wasted in the end.

Unfortunately it sounds as if you are inserting the straw in the wrong section. Please see last picture on the listing which shows clearly how to use the straw to blow it up and deflate it. Any issues with your purchases on eBay always get in contact with your seller first, we will always try and rectify any issues instead of jumping on the feedback before we've had a chance to sort it out!
