Excellent in most respects, however the blue of these hackles is substantially brighter than the darker blue of the hackles worn by 1SG or for that matter by pipers I knew years ago who served in 2SG. While I can't claim to have made an exhaustive search, I've been unable to find photographs, videos or illustrations showing the SG hackles with blue as bright as this. For what it's worth the SG hackles were made with red and, I believe, a colour called Windsor Blue.
