Useful tool for knitting garter stitch, in fact, essential bit of kit to produce this basic stitch I.e.: 1 row knit, 1 row purl. It is a bit old fashioned now, but before the advent of the electronic machine with garter carriage I don’t think there was any other way to produce this type of stitch on a knitting machine. My knowledge of older machines is limited, however! Machines have been around for decades now!I am far from being an expert!
