I didn't want to attack it with metal polish and ruin it so have left it as found for the buyer to clean and restore. It's dirty and rusty but pretty sound. The branding and colours on the lid appear to be pretty much complete and will probably clean up nicely. The brass base is also dirty but again will probably clean up pretty well. The inside of the lid is largely clean and the printing is clear. There is a pair of small holes on both short sides of the base - holes like these seem to be a feature of these tins from images I've seen - I've no idea what they're for! There's a small curve (@1mm) on the side of the lid on the right hand side that I think will push back in.”
