Purchased this Air Band antenna in order to receive the Air band traffic in my area. I live a quarter mile from the Airport, and the Dual Band antenna (2 meter/70 CM) does receive the local air traffic a little. So I figured I would purchase this Air Band antenna and did. However, when installed I discovered that it picked up area VHF and UHF, but not the AM Air Band at all. I could not receive the Airport that is only a quarter mile away. So I put the little 8 inch Dual Band back on.
