This is a string of antique handmade silver Navajo made bench beads, also known as Navajo pearls or desert pearls. These silver beads were built of two halves that were hammered into shape using a form and decorated with rustic stamped designs. These pieces were strung together and put in a fire to fuse each half to it's mate. There are imperfections in the applied designs which add to the beauty of the beads, as today's standards demand perfection. These 37 individual beads are strung on silver chain with a simple hook and eye clasp. The strand is 17.5" L and weighs 67.10g. Each bead measures approx 1/2" W x 3/8" H. Patina as found. These are a rare treat for those who know!”
