The colorful and highly detailed Maximal action figure is packed with fun features and will be a great addition to toy collections for fans of any generation. The one-of-a-kind aquatic-type Transformer leaps straight off the screen from the Beast Wars computer-animated television series with multiple points of articulation, accessories, and action features. This 11-inch toy Robot In Disguise can take three unique forms. Depth Charge stands tall in his powerful robot mode, wielding a massive sword and robotic shark blaster rifle with dual spring-loaded missiles that really fire. He quickly transforms to a massive, metallic manta ray, plunging into the depths of the ocean and engaging in epic underwater combat using his rapid fire disk launcher feature. Finally, the Depth Charge figure converts to a speedy space-cruiser, giving him the ability to hunt down Decepticons wherever they may try to hide. Long before Optimus Prime, in the ancient history of the far-off Transformer home world Cybertron, there lived the Maximals, fierce mechanical shape shifters who could assume the appearance of organic life forms. Their never-ending fight against the forces of evil took place on battlefields across the universe, including a prehistoric Earth. Depth Charge was a Maximal with a mission – a former member of a collection of Imperial Peace Marshals who failed in his duty to save the robots he was sworn to protect. From that moment, his only goal has been justice, or perhaps revenge, for Protoform X, the cruel force behind the destruction that is on the loose in the universe. His hunt eventually brought him to Earth, where he formed an alliance with the collection of Maximals residing there and agreed to aid his brand new friends in protecting the primitive intelligent creatures and the planet’s hidden Energon source in return for their assistance in the location and destruction of his old foe. Now your Transformers fan can relive their favorite adventures, or imagine their own, from the moment they take the Depth Charge figure out of its original, sealed box. The Transmetals Depth Charge figure features a reflective metallic finish and intricately detailed paint job, matching the character from the television series with impressive accuracy. His positionable gray tail and bending blue and purple fins recreate the strong yet graceful swimming motions of Depth Charge’s manta ray beast mode while his cybershark drone latches onto his underbelly for safe keeping. The toy manta’s mouth can let loose up to seven of the character’s patented “shrapnel grenade” yellow plastic disks. When switching the Transformer to his humanoid form, Depth Charge’s chest maintains the disk launching action, and the cybershark fits in his hand to convert into the hero’s firing toy blaster rifle. The excellent balance of eye-catching appearance and fun-filled function makes Depth Charge a great choice for a play or display collection.
