This book which is well researched and highly illustrated with Black and White photographs has a foreword by Erik Carlson.The first 1,000 mile trial-cum rally was held in 1900 to impress the motor car as a reliable mode of transport to supersede the horse and carriage. Many small events took place but the first large-scale rally emerged in Britain in 1932. This was organised by the RAC. However no outright winner was posted until 1937. International rallying evolved in Britain slowly into the exciting event we now witness in the forests.From pioneers at the begining of the twentieth century to the high tech modern era this book breathes life into each era of the event. 176pp. The book and its D/J are in As New Condition.
