Seller notes: “Very old bookplate print mounted on newer mat measures 11.5" tall by 7.75" wide. Print shows ... “Very old bookplate print mounted on newer mat measures 11.5" tall by 7.75" wide. Print shows generalized soiling consistent with it's age. We put the age as sometime in the late 1700's as both Hertel & Haberman had died by 1800. This Cartouche print may have been hand colored at a later date in the early 1800's. What is confusing is that the first reference to Little Bo Peep is in the year 1805. Anyway, it is a great old antique print and highly unique.”
