Seller notes: “Chinese Shoushan Stone Wild Horse Carving & Text - Blank Open Seal Base.Presented in a small linen ... “Chinese Shoushan Stone Wild Horse Carving & Text - Blank Open Seal Base.Presented in a small linen covered presentation box, this is a small vintage Shoushan stone carving of a wild horse on an ovoid pedestal engraved with text and scenes of the wilds where the horse might live as far as I can tell.It is about 3.25" in height.The oval base is about 2" by 1.25" and is flat & blank, though I believe it would be engraved into some form of seal monogram or image.I have been unable to get a translation for the text.I have also struggled to work out the age, though I can say it isn't new and has some age and vintage, and the box, which is more modern, isn't neccessarily original to the carving, though it holds it beautifully.Whatever the age, it is a fairly beautiful item carved with both skill & care, and in excellent condition as far as I can see and feel, no chips, no cracks, no damage whatsoever, though please do check the photos for a closer inspection.”
