With development duties transferred from Sucker Punch to Sanzaru, Sony's popular cel-shaded raccoon burglar returns after a nearly eight-year hiatus in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. The game picks up where Sly Cooper 3 left off, with the brainy turtle Bentley convincing the gang to travel through time, find their friend Penelope, and track down missing pages of the repository of thief knowledge and Cooper family history known as the Thievius Raccoonus. As always, players primarily control Sly Cooper as he engages in a mix of light-hearted 3D combat and stealth.<br><br>Travelling through time gives gamers the opportunity to meet and take control of some of Sly's ancient relatives, including the ninja Rioichi Cooper, the caveman Bob Cooper, and the Arabian thief Salim al Kupar. Players acquire new costumes and powers as they make their way through the game's worlds, and each of the secondary characters has special skills and abilities that can be used in already completed zones to reach previously unavailable areas. Thieves in Time includes special touch-screen and motion controls that let Vita users switch costumes on the fly or guide projectiles to their target, and the game is cross compatible, letting gamers use the augmented reality feature on their handheld system to spot hidden treasures in the PS3 version.
