Decided to take a flier, Solid Walnut with a Bearclaw Spruce soundboard - an unusual marriage. First off: this thing is drop-dead-gorgeous. Wavy swirly accent patterns dancing on the top, abalone inlay around the body, and zebra like stripes, yellow and black, running the back and sides. But: I gotta have good tone. So, I find a solid woody - mahogany like - bottom end with the GA sized body enhancing volume. Sparkly chimes in the trebles with impressive sustain creating a fine harmonic balance.
