Detailed though sad account of British Army officer deaths in the Great War 1914-18 mainly battalion commanders who were killed in action - KIA probably targeted - not mentioned in the 1964 BBC TV series "The Great War" that I saw at the time as a few of my teachers at school served in the Great War, since in 1961 they were still only 61. This is the British aiding neutral Belgium - "that scrap of paper". The MC was originally awarded only to officers for leadership - not class.
