The on-camera flash is pretty good, but groups of 30 in 3 rows the edges are less well lit. Haven't used it on a group yet, but both strobe heads flash (both individually and together) when the camera flash fires. Both units work at full & half power settings. The one problem I had was one lamp does not screw securely into one head, but keeps screwing without holding. Solved problem by color coding heads & lamps so both are tight.
