    Fresh manufacture. Condition is new. Axle and locknuts nice, well finished, with a hard nitrided finish. Good value. [For me this is fine, because in my case the axle was all I needed; my hub uses sealed bearings.] Conversely, the bearing cones appear to be phosphated, and not well machined. I would try to find hard chromed or machined ones, which would likely be easier on your ball bearings.

    QD axle on my old Soma was 135 mm OAL - Bought this one as the closest OAL to that and shortened it on my little lathe by removing a few mm on each end. Perfect.
