I found, since receiving the badges: the smaller badge is British WW Two and was issued to SOE operatives undergoing jump training at Brindisi, Italy before being inserted to work with partisans in Yugoslavia, Greece and Northern Italy, 1943-44. That unique style of brevet was embroidered onto light blue-grayish felt Contemporary badges given for training in other locations were on black felt, battle dress brown or rarely, Navy blue.
