Though nobly born, Lurkalot has been laid low by wicked barons and has to make the best of life as a mere serf at Custard Castle. Between buttling for Sir Coward de Custard and posing for Lady Ashfodels tapestry, he indulges in a little business selling chastity belts and love potions. All goes medievally until Sir Braggart de Bombast arrives on the scene a lecher and despoiler of virgins who plots to seize the castle and the beautiful Lobelia de Custard and have his way with her. Will Sir Braggart have the skill to unlock Lurkalots latest Mark III model chastity belt and arch his quiver, or will it end in a declaration of war on Custard Castle? UP POMPEII was a huge success for the BBC thanks to Frankie Howerds hilarious double-takes and clever asides to the viewing audience at home. So successful, it lead to numerous sequels and three feature films to rival the CARRY ON series. This second film in the series transported Howerds character to medieval times in a romp worthy of the sauciest 70s comedy.
