    I'd never seen a fluted seatpost before. I like it. Its going into a Tandem bike designed for disabled people. I'm hopeful that it meets the needs and is durable. I believe that I'll be OK since I really don't need as much length as I bought. There's no marking for a minimum insertion point so you'll have to use your own judgement.
