Despite minimal packaging (thin plastic postal bag & piece of paper; better for the environment sir ;-) ?, the gas strut arrived safely. Not convinced by the unsightly weld quality; will have to wait and see if it lasts…. Putting in the new strut was a breeze, compared with the challenge and effort of taking out the old one (Don’t believe the ‘it’s so easy’ YouTube video’s) After initial settling in, re-adjusting the ‘trigger point’, the seat height appears to be stable. Problem solved I hope!
