This book is in Very Good+ condition and is lacking a dust, jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean,, bright condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers, have some light bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and, corners of the covers. The text pages are clean and bright., There is a previous owner's inked name on the front pastedown, page. The fold-out map at the rear of the book is in Very Good+, or better condition. The British, decided to take the Cape Colony after the Netherlands became, part of the French Empire under Napoléon Bonaparte after France, annexed the Netherlands. In 1802, the British returned the Cape, Colony to the Dutch after the signing of the Treaty of Amiens,, however, in 1806, during the Napoleonic Wars, a second British, invasion re-occupied the colony after the Battle of Blaauwberg, and it remained a British colony.
