I’ve had a few F&V R300s. Amazing and versatile light. But obviously I’m hard on them and it came time to replace. So I ordered one and can say the newer model is lighter in weight, thinner in design and seems to be a darker shell closer matching the camera. Very impressed. This model however has the director lens mount. At first I thought this is a great solution but by feeling the added tension on the barrel the less I like it. Sure shooting primes and using D glass is more stable.
