    It is fascinating how even the seemingly most insignificant item can be potentially filled with history. This letter was sent via air mail in February, 1934 and in all likelihood was flown by a US Army pilot because President Roosevelt for a very short period of time between February and June, 1934 had the army flying air mail because of allegations of corruption in the awarding of the air mail contracts.This turned out to be a poor decision and many Air Force pilots were killed
