The film shows him reflecting on his life as a child in the rural west of Ireland and his move to England's vibrant metropolis. Also featuring Stephen Rea (END OF THE AFFAIR and THE CRYING GAME) and Maria Doyle Kennedy (QUEER AS FOLK, THE COMMITMENTS) this film has a vivid soundtrack reflecting the contrasting parts of the old man's life. Touching on the themes of alienation, identity, love and loss this is a wonderful visual adaptation of the novel by Timothy O'Grady and Steven Pyke and a profoundly affecting film.
