The tape recorder arrived in NEW like condition. My concern, when I played my study tapes, was the LOUD HISSING. It is NOT my tapes, because my prior Sony recorder DID NOT HISS! My tapes were quite clear. I am KEEPING it because I HAVE to have it, due to time constraints regarding study. I can still understand what is being said, but that HISSING is ANNOYING!!
