Someone took the time to leave the Coat for her and every time she wears it, she feels the love and healing which radiates from simple love and kindness.Illustrated by 5-year old Kailee, "The Thanksgiving Coat" is an extension of a true story.Prior to volunteering at a local food bank, little Kailee and her mother went to the grocery store to choose their donation of the healthiest canned vegetables they could find. Kailee was moved to see families who would have neither food nor clothing if it weren't for the loving donations of complete strangers.She asked WHO would be receiving the vegetables she took the time to choose. Did they have children her age? Did they have toys? Did they sleep in a bed? Did they have coats in winter? Did they know that she chose the vegetables especially for them? Would it make them happy?From Kailee's questions, the idea for "The Thanksgiving Coat" was born. This book is being developed into a video short by Anthony LaMolinara (Oscar Winner for Spiderman 2) and is also becoming a Musical Theatre Production for release in 2012.
