Seller notes: “The splendid GOLDEN RETRIEVER offered here as seen is in good all original condition considering it ... “The splendid GOLDEN RETRIEVER offered here as seen is in good all original condition considering it will be at least well over 80 years old and may be nearer 100. The finish is all original with little evidence of any play wear with only very slight rubbing to the original paint in places as shown. There is a historic glued repair to the right front paw as shown, using the original carved paw. I have had the figure for many years and had thought there was paint loss to the tip of the tail, but looking at it closely for this listing I suspect there had been a small loss to the tail and someone attempted (unwisely!) to reshape the somewhat shortened tail. This might be greatly improved with an added upturned tip. Construction is 3 ply and the character of the animal is beautifully observed in the carving. The GOLDEN RETRIEVER is approx 90mm long and 63mm high. A rare opportunity.Please refer to multiple photographs which are provided as part of the detailed description.”
