A sturdy cardboard box was used but it is a good thing that this item was not particularly fragile. Made of tinplate , it was just tossed in the box with a deflated strip of air wrap draped loosely around it and a single piece of bubble wrap on top. Package rattled noticeably when received. Seller has much to learn about proper packaging. If buying a truly fragile item, Beware!!!
