Seller notes: “This item is in good condition, w/ creases, small chipping, wrinkling, tears; art paper affixed to ... “This item is in good condition, w/ creases, small chipping, wrinkling, tears; art paper affixed to green backboard to stabilize it years ago by artist, with wrinkling noted in places. Pastel has surface wear from paper fibers, was glued onto additional cardboard backing. We have not attempted to correct this as we are not art conservators; we believe the glueing can be reversed-This is an item that is 70 years old and has not been stored with best of care. Signed 'Fred Yost, 1955, Sketches from Omaha Resv', LR. Believed to have been done in Macy, Nebraska on Omaha Reservation there. Blue ballpoint pen ink sketches on paper are bright, crisp & images clear. Measures: 28"x 44" for total board; sketches: @8.5" X 10.5", pastel is 13.5" X 23". Purchased as part of collection of artist's original work. Artwork was part of Yost's one-man show 'Pow Wow', item #6, at Canton Museum of Art, Canton, Ohio, 1960, copy of brochure from this event included in listing. See photos for details.”
