With its wooden surface being worn and naturally aged through obvious use / handling over the years. Scratches, missing detail and loss of both wood and metal detail. This example does not lock however the hinges are firmly in place and the box opens and closes as first intended. Repousse work damaged and lifted in areas but mostly present. This box is over 200 years old, authentic, and true to its age, untouched as all we have done is applied a light natural bees wax to protect the wood. Remnants of practice carved geometric shapes to the inside lid as shown also. We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase.
