It was developed by Hydravision Entertainment with a release date by Ignition Entertainment in 2008. It is a dark horror game with two-player co-op capability with controls and combat often used in action-adventure games. This version of the game is the North American release for the Sony PlayStation 2.Some of the cast from the first Obscure game make a reappearance in the sequel. After the events of the first game, Shannon and Kenny moved to a new city for a fresh start. The past just won't stay dead. Strange, black flowers have suddenly appeared on campus, and their powerful pollen has hallucinogenic properties. A new biological experiment threatens the people of the characters' new town. Their new university and all the students inside are in danger. Helping them along the way are biological scientists, fellow students, and what few survivors remain.The combat in the sequel takes a page out of other action-adventure and survival horror games. Melee is the rule of the day in order to keep yourself alive. Baseball bats, hockey sticks, crossbows, Taser guns, submachine guns, and other armaments are standing between the heroes and evil. Some characters even have special abilities that let them control or avoid the full effect of the spores.The cast of the second Obscure video game is a mixture of returning characters and new faces making their debuts. You can choose from any of the six playable characters. Each character brings distinct skills to the group, from moving heavy objects to hacking computers. The cast is fully voiced for this cautionary tale of human ambition and evil science, providing a rich, cinematic feel. Viewed from a third-person perspective, the action of the game primarily involves fighting enemies and solving puzzles. Using two characters at a time, you can freely switch between the two.
