It's thin brass sheets folded over, as described. Tin is silver. Go ask your local jeweler what it's made out of. And even if it was Tin, which it is not, why does that effect the price of a handcrafted item? I cut, fold, shape and assemble these by hand. The brass alone is worth more than $5. When you buy art do you think you only should pay for the cost of paint and canvas? Maybe don't buy handcrafted objects from human beings on Etsy if thats how you think.
