Every amplifier technician has in his tool box a set of tubes that he knows are good, and these were my known reference 6L6's. These tubes have less than 100 hours on them, and they are tested thoroughly, sometimes overnight burning an amplifier in. They have never been on the road. There is an appearance of some radial lines around the tubes , these are not scratches in the tubes, it is just the way the camera is picking up the glass moldings.”
