This saddle has good quality soft cow leather. Virtually no break in time it is comfortable right from the get-go. The seat has quite a bit of padding and really the workmanship on it was beautiful. I wouldn't suggest it for a high withered horse but that would be expected for a treeless saddle. It does however work well on a wide horse. Very impressed with the workmanship and quality for the price. Not bad on the shipping it was here within a month. I would definitely recommend
