Robert Lee Irving III officially began his music career with Miles Davis' comeback release, the Man with the Horn, on which Irving was keyboardist and co-writer of both the title track and "Shout." 2006 marked the 80th birthday of Miles Davis, it also marked Irving's 25th year in the music industry. Irving celebrates with New Momentum, his first-ever acoustic-based project as a leader, featuring fellow Miles Davis alum, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Yussef Ernie Adams.
