Sometimes things happen!!! – Post gets lost, thankfully this is infrequent, however when it does it can lead to much misunderstanding and a less than positive experience. To avoid any misunderstanding, I have set out below how I deal with issues of lost or missing post.
 
I use Royal Mail in most circumstances for getting your item to you, Please bear in mind that I have to follow their policies - I will always get proof of postage - otherwise Royal Mail will not investigate missing post. Royal Mail will not investigate until 10 working days have passed AFTER the delivery due date – this applied to both 1st and 2nd class mail:
 
 
 
However I am happy to refund you BEFORE this time – I ask that you wait at least 5 working days AFTER the due date to allow the post to arrive.
 
Please note - if you require an alternative mailing option than shown, as long as it is the next level up ( e.g. upgrade from 1st class to “signed for” ) - please contact me BEFORE paying so I can quote the service you require:
 
RATES: As a general rule – my postage rates follow the compensation rules as laid down by Royal Mail:
 
Therefore I usually mandate the postage / shipping in line with these compensation levels.
 
Up to £20 of evidenced value for Standard 1st and 2nd Class mail
Up to £50 of evidenced value for Signed for 1st and 2nd Class mail
Up to £150 of evidenced value for Signed and Tracked mail
Up to £750 special delivery guaranteed mail.
 
There are other options between £150 and £750 – which I would usually define within my postage rates / policy within listings if applicable.
