hi, as we explain, the 9 dark leds are NIR--- invisible, when mixed the bright Red 630/660nm, so looks dark, but working normal; you can screw out the cover and check under your phone video, will see a little dim. thank you!

This is a great value! I have had mine for over a week and used it every day myself and my family has used it a bunch also.
